This is a pre-order, pedals will ship within the next 2 weeks, before new 50% tariffs are launched in the US. Unlock the swirling, shimmering world of the legendary EHX(tm) Polychorus(tm) and Echoflanger(tm)—famously used by Kurt Cobain on In Utero and Adrian Belew’s avant-garde soundscapes. The Multi-Mod faithfully recreates these iconic modulation tones in a pedal built for today’s rig.
Unlike the originals, the Multi-Mod eliminates the notorious clock tick and volume drop, delivering pristine chorus, flanger, and double-tracking effects with rock-solid output. Each unit is meticulously hand-built, preserving the lush analog textures of the original while solving its biggest headaches.
- Authentic Polychorus/Echoflanger circuit
- Zero ticking noise—ultra-quiet operation
- Full-volume signal with no level drop
- Uses standard Boss style 9VDC power adaptor, boosted internally to the 15VDC of the original
- Limited batch—handmade and road-ready
Experience the modulation pedal that defined a generation—refined for modern players.
Note that this is a mono pedal, to fix some of the issues of the original, I had to drop the pseudo stereo reversed-phase second output.
Power adaptor not included.
Draws 60mA, 9VDC center ground Boss style power (adaptor not included)
Dimensions 5.7" x 4.7" x 1.6", 1.8 lbs

I received the Multi Mod a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. The sheer range of sounds you can get - from thick flange or chorus to wacky comb filter effects is phenomenal; all I can say is, I think my pedalboard is about done (I have no more room left as you can see in the photo). The Multi Mod is in the fx loop of my Boss SY-300 along with the other pedals in the photo.
The Multi Mod works great with clean or distorted tones. One of the things I especially I love is the way the Filter Matrix creates a plethora of spacey clean and dirty sounds; some of the clean sounds reminded me of little aliens speaking and actually made me laugh out loud. And, although I know that Alex Lifeson relied more on the EHX Electric Mistress and the Roland Jazz Chorus amp, when I play those opening chords to Hemispheres, it's just a thing of beauty!!!
I've been a bit bummed lately as my vintage EHX Polyphase is apparently irreparable despite the best efforts of an electronics tech (some parts are no longer made). So, I was looking for something with that vintage vibe to fill that hole and with EHX being my favorite fx company, the Multi Mod has definitely lifted my spirits. So, thank you Warren and keep on rocking!!!

I bought this pedal as a birthday gift for my husband and here is his review:
The Multi Mod is super versatile and can easily replace several pedals in your rig. There's not a bad sound to be had no matter how you dial it in. It really makes whatever you play sound so lush and extra-dimensional that when you switch the pedal off you will immediately miss it as everything goes dull and flat. Ethereal flanging, shimmering chorus, pure analog double tracking, it's all in here. Filter Matrix mode can be played almost as an instrument by using the Tune/Delay knob. Lots of fun. Things can get crazy too if you're so inclined, from very cold and alien to very warm and classic depending on the mode and your mood. Studio grade effects in this little box, with absolutely zero extraneous noise. It's dead quiet. Build quality is fantastic. Grab one, you won’t regret it!
What a great birthday gift, I'm glad it made the grade. Thank you for the review, and happy belated birthday to your husband.
I'm sure that a large percentage of prospective buyers of this pedal are just looking for the In Utero sounds. Well it definitely does those, but you're doing it a disservice if you don't explore all that it has to offer. Subtle adjustments make big changes, and I find myself entering new worlds every time I use this pedal. It goes from subtle echoes and warbles to extreme pitch-bending modulation from another dimension, and everything in between. Even its position in the chain can have widely varying (and marvelous) effects - an OD up front adds more punch to the swooshes, whereas a distortion after the Multi Mod in Double Track mode gets you into some seriously gnarly tones that would work for hard rock and metal. I own quite a few modulation pedals, and this is my favorite by a long shot.
RFUS sells it to a lot of people, but I agree, there are lots of cool tones in this one. Thanks for your thorough and helpful review, I appreciate you taking the time to do that, and I'm glad you love the pedal. Enjoy!!
Fantastic pedal, does everything that a Polychorus/Echoflanger should and more. Small enough footprint to get onto your pedalboard. Easy power with the 9v plug. I plugged mine into a pedal chain power supply and works flawlessly. No hum, no buffering or messing with other pedals volumes when activated. Solid build, decals are nostalgic. Really fantastic pedal. Couldn't be happier!
Thank you very much, I'm so happy it's working well for you.
